Managing Your Yeeld Account

How to Close Your Yeeld Account

You can close your Yeeld account directly within the app. Before closure, you'll need to withdraw any funds held within Yeeld products, close active investment portfolios, and complete a security verification.

If you decide that Yeeld is no longer right for you, you can request account closure directly within the app.

Before starting the process, it's important to understand what needs to be completed before your account can be closed successfully.

Step 1: Navigate to Account Closure

To begin:

  1. Open the Yeeld app
  2. Select More from the main navigation menu
  3. Scroll down and select Close Account

This will launch the account closure process.

Step 2: Ensure Your Yeeld Balances Are Zero

Before an account can be closed, all Yeeld-managed products must have a zero balance.

This includes:

  • Your Yeeld GBP account
  • ISA portfolios
  • GIA portfolios
  • SIPP portfolios
  • Any other Yeeld investment products

Any funds held within these products must be withdrawn before account closure can proceed.

Connected Accounts

Connected third-party bank accounts do not need to have a zero balance.

These accounts remain with your existing bank and are simply connected to Yeeld through Open Banking.

Free Users

If you are a Yeeld Connect user and have not opened a Yeeld account, investment account, or other Yeeld financial product, these balance requirements do not apply to you.

Cashback Wallet Balances

Your cashback wallet does not need to have a zero balance before you close your account.

However, any unclaimed or unwithdrawn Yeeld Coins remaining in your cashback wallet at the point of account closure will be permanently forfeited.

We therefore recommend withdrawing any available cashback rewards before submitting your account closure request.

Once your account has been closed, forfeited cashback rewards cannot be reinstated or recovered.

Step 3: Wait for Any Pending Activity to Complete

Your account cannot be closed while certain activities are still in progress.

Examples include:

  • Pending card transactions
  • Pending deposits
  • Pending withdrawals
  • Pending investment buy orders
  • Pending investment sell orders
  • Any unsettled account activity

If any of these exist, you'll need to wait until they have completed before proceeding with account closure.

Step 4: Download Any Documents You Wish to Keep

Before closing your account, we recommend downloading any documents you wish to keep for your records.

These can be found in the My Documents section of the app and may include:

  • Account statements
  • Investment statements
  • Tax documents
  • Rewards statements
  • Terms and declarations

Once your account is closed, access to the app will end.

Step 5: Tell Us Why You're Leaving

We'll ask you to provide a reason for closing your account.

You can:

  • Select one of the predefined options
  • Choose Other and provide additional feedback

Your feedback helps us improve Yeeld and better understand our users' experiences.

Step 6: Confirm Account Closure

To protect your account from unauthorised closure requests, you'll be required to complete a security verification.

This may include:

  • Entering your account password
  • Completing an OTP verification
  • Using biometric authentication (if enabled)
  • Completing any additional security checks required

Once completed, select Confirm Closure.

We Recommend Disconnecting Your Connected Accounts

If you have connected third-party bank accounts to Yeeld, we recommend disconnecting them before closing your account.

Disconnecting an account immediately stops Yeeld from receiving new transaction and balance data from that account.

This step is optional and is not required for account closure.

If you choose not to disconnect your connected accounts manually, the Open Banking consent will naturally expire and the connection will automatically terminate after the regulatory consent period ends.

What Happens to My Data?

Protecting your privacy is extremely important to us.

When you disconnect a connected account or close your Yeeld account:

  • Personal identifiers are removed from your data
  • Personal information is deleted where appropriate
  • Data is anonymised and pseudonymised in line with regulatory requirements

This means the remaining information can no longer be linked back to you as an identifiable individual.

Why Do We Retain Some Data?

As a regulated financial services provider, we are required to retain certain records for:

  • Regulatory compliance
  • Financial crime monitoring
  • Audit requirements
  • Legal obligations

Any retained information is stored in an anonymised or pseudonymised format and poses no security risk to you.

We never retain more information than required and always process data in accordance with applicable data protection and financial services regulations.

Important: Account Closure Is Permanent

Closing your account is irreversible.

Once your closure request has been confirmed:

  • Your Yeeld account will be closed
  • Access to the app will be removed
  • Any Yeeld cards will be terminated
  • Future access to Yeeld services will end

If you wish to use Yeeld again in the future, you may need to complete a new application and onboarding process.

Need Help Before Closing?

If you're experiencing an issue and are considering closing your account, our support team may be able to help.

Contact us at:

support@yeeld.com

We're always happy to understand your concerns and see if there's a way we can improve your experience.

In Summary

To close your Yeeld account:

  1. Go to More → Close Account
  2. Ensure all Yeeld accounts and investment products have a zero balance
  3. Wait for any pending activity to complete
  4. Withdraw any cashback you wish to keep
  5. Download any documents you wish to retain
  6. Provide feedback
  7. Complete the security verification
  8. Confirm closure

Once confirmed, your account will be permanently closed and the action cannot be reversed.
