Roast Mode is Penny's humorous way of helping you reflect on your spending habits.
Rather than simply pointing out where your money has gone, Penny delivers light-hearted, playful comments about certain purchases to encourage you to think twice about your discretionary spending.
It's designed to make managing your money a little more entertaining—never to make you feel bad.

What Does Roast Mode Do?
When Roast Mode is enabled, Penny may occasionally respond with humorous observations about your spending.
For example, if you've ordered several takeaways in a short period, Penny might say:
"Are we feeding a small army with all these deliveries?"
The goal isn't to criticise your spending—it's to make you smile while encouraging you to think about your financial habits.
Designed with Sensitivity in Mind
Roast Mode isn't designed to embarrass, shame or upset you.
Penny carefully selects the types of spending she jokes about.
Roasts are generally limited to discretionary spending in categories that are commonly associated with impulse purchases or non-essential spending, such as frequent takeaways, shopping or entertainment.
Penny avoids making light of sensitive or essential spending, helping ensure Roast Mode stays fun and respectful.
Helping You Stay Accountable
Sometimes a little humour can be more memorable than a traditional financial notification.
Roast Mode encourages you to pause and reflect on your spending decisions without making budgeting feel like a chore.
Many users find that a funny comment is enough to make them think twice before making another unnecessary purchase.
You're Always in Control
If you ever feel like taking a break from the jokes, simply ask Penny to turn Roast Mode off.
Your financial insights, analysis and support remain exactly the same—the only thing that changes is Penny's personality.
